Hunting & Outdoors

Over the past few years I’ve worked on a variety of hunting & outdoors productions where I’ve tried to explore the hunter’s humanity beyond the often gruesome but necessary act of killing an animal. Once I started digging deeper into these issues I found that most hunters are not the blood-thirsty and gun crazy characters we often make them out to be, but conscious and sympathetic individuals that would rather feed themselves than to accept what corporate slaughter houses dish us up.

Shawn sets up shop outside of grocery stores in Oakland, California where he tries to make some extra money by selling his art. This is a documentary portrait of this artist’s history, inspirations and ambitions as told through his work.
